25 mars 2020 COVID-19: Tax Bill Payment Extension – Saint-Bruno-de-Montarville
Saint-Bruno-de-Montarville, March 25, 2020 – To lighten the tax load on its residents and businesses during the fight against COVID-19, Municipal Council passed a resolution on March 24 to extend by one month the payment deadlines for the three municipal tax installments below.
“Confinement has economic repercussions for a great many of our fellow citizens, and the members of the municipal council and I wish to support you during this difficult time. We believe this measure will help provide some relief,” says Martin Murray, Mayor of Saint-Bruno.
Revised tax bill payment deadlines
- 2nd installment: now May 6, 2020
- 3rd installment: now July 6, 2020
- 4th installment: now September 8, 2020
Post-dated cheques already sent to the municipality and preauthorized bank debits
The municipality will deposit post-dated cheques one month later than the initial deadline, to allow residents to benefit from the tax payment extension. No action is required by residents. The same extension also applies to preauthorized bank debits, which will be debited according to the new deadlines.
Automatic installments and electronic payments
To take advantage of this new measure, residents who have already programmed automatic payments for their tax bill are encouraged to make the necessary adjustments via their online bank account.
For electronic payment, find the payee using the term “St-Bruno” and enter the electronic payment number as it appears on the tax statement payment stub.
In-person payment not available
The municipality reminds you that its service counters will be closed until further notice. In light of government recommendations to minimize contact with others, residents are invited to pay their tax bill electronically.
